Key Responsibilities
- Advise clients on property tax and transfer tax planning for acquisitions and dispositions
- Support tax controversy matters before assessment appeal boards and appellate courts
- Conduct legal and factual research and analysis on complex SALT issues
- Aid in valuation analysis, case development, and litigation strategy
- Draft legal memoranda and advocacy materials for various audiences
- Engage in oral advocacy before tax authorities and courts
- Collaborate directly with clients on planning and dispute matters
Who You Are
- A mid-level associate with experience in SALT, property tax, real estate, valuation, or litigation
- Strong academic credentials from an accredited law school
- Experience at an Am Law 100 firm or top accounting firm preferred
- Exceptional analytical, writing, and communication skills
- Comfortable with numbers and financial/valuation concepts
- Proficiency in Excel is advantageous
- Admitted to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction and willing to sit for the California Bar
Compensation
Salary Range: $260,000 – $435,000 (DOE)
