State & Local Policy Manager

For our client, we are seeking a State & Local Policy Manager to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This role will help shape state and local public policy strategy in support of the organization’s broader business goals. The position will partner closely with Legal, Communications, and other internal stakeholders to identify emerging issues, develop thoughtful responses, and advance advocacy priorities. It will also build external relationships with policymakers, consultants, and industry peers to support effective coalition efforts across key markets. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $110,000 – $130,000 annually Responsibilities Support public policy initiatives by collaborating across teams to identify issues and strategize responses. Build and maintain relationships with state and local political figures. Hire, oversee, and coordinate work with consultants and advocacy partners. Manage political contributions at the state and local levels. Establish a network of fintech peers to promote collaborative advocacy efforts. Qualifications 5-8 years of experience in public policy, focused on state legislative and regulatory issues. Strong political connections within key markets, ideally California. Expertise in financial services, payments regulation, and artificial intelligence policy. Proven track record of advocacy across multiple states before legislators and regulators. Experience with coalition building and managing state consultants. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with strong strategic and creative thinking.
