About the role
The South Dakota Department of Public Safety is seeking a seasonal State Inspector, with flexibility in the position’s location. This position will conduct inspections on behalf of the Department of Health, including restaurant kitchens, hotels, vacation homes, and other lodging facilities throughout South Dakota. The role requires travel across the state to complete inspections. This is a temporary or seasonal, non-benefited position, exempt from civil service.
Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections of restaurant kitchens, hotels, vacation homes, and other lodging facilities.
- Travel across South Dakota to complete inspections.
Requirements
- Valid driver license.
Skills
- Knowledge of safe food handling practices (helpful but not required).
- Ability to manage time and develop an efficient schedule.
- Ability to function independently.
- Ability to create accurate and thorough reports.
Pay
$19.50 - $22.61 per hour, dependent on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
Up to 40 hours per week.
