State Attorneys General Practice Associate

About the role

Cozen O'Connor is seeking a talented and motivated associate to join its nationally recognized State Attorneys General Practice. The position can be resident in Washington, DC, Richmond, or New York. It is ideal for an attorney with 2 to 4 years of litigation experience who wants to develop a sophisticated practice at the intersection of law, public policy, and government enforcement.

Responsibilities

• Draft pleadings and motions for a broad range of litigation matters.
• Conduct legal research and write analytical memoranda.
• Respond to complex discovery requests, including e‑discovery processes.
• Assist with high‑stakes investigations and multistate or federal co‑enforcement actions.
• Collaborate with senior practitioners on cutting‑edge matters of national significance.

Qualifications

• 2 to 4 years of litigation experience.
• Experience drafting motions, conducting legal research, and handling complex discovery.
• Strong writing, analytical, and communication skills.
• Excellent academic credentials.
• Experience with e‑discovery tools and processes (preferred).
• Trial and oral argument experience not required.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $225,000 – $265,000. This range reflects the firm’s good‑faith estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting; actual compensation will depend on factors such as the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications, and location.
