Description

The Starlight Cafe Associate is responsible for preparing, cooking, and plating food items for the Starlight Café at Huber’s Orchard & Winery. This role ensures that all food is prepared according to recipes and quality standards while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, portioning, and presentation standards.
• Assist with prepping ingredients such as chopping vegetables, slicing meats, and assembling ingredients for daily service.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively to prepare menu items.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout shifts, ensuring compliance with sanitation and food safety standards.
• Absorb and rotate food products to maintain freshness and minimize waste.
• Follow all food safety protocols, including proper food handling, storage, and temperature control.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen team members to ensure efficient service and timely food production.
• Assist with dishwashing or bussing tasks as needed to support overall kitchen operations.
• Maintain a professional and positive demeanor when in guest areas, ensuring a welcoming café environment.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior experience in food preparation or kitchen operations preferred but not required; on-the-job training provided.
• Basic knowledge of food safety practices and kitchen sanitation standards.
• Ability to follow recipes and directions accurately.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and time management skills.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and peak seasons as scheduled.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods in a hot fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
