As a primary contact for Safeway customers, the Starbucks Department Manager provides friendly, courteous, and helpful service while leading a team and driving department results.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service as defined by the employer within company policy.
- Resolve customer problems related to sales, service, or department operations.
- Train, schedule, and supervise barista workers to ensure optimal staffing.
- Provide financial reporting to the Store Manager and Field Supervisor.
- Ensure product quality and maintain appropriate stock and inventory.
- Change signs and prices as directed by merchandising guidelines.
- Write orders in the order guidebook, enter them into the computer, and verify completeness upon arrival.
- Brew coffee, tea, and chocolate using various kitchen equipment.
- Operate an electronic cash register, process payments, and make correct change.
- Maintain cleanliness of the coffee service area and equipment.
- Set up and maintain displays in the coffee area.
- Replace stock in the preparation area from the supply area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to follow company customer service procedures.
- Demonstrated prior customer service skills or related experience.
- Ability to interact effectively with customers and co-workers.
- Ability to understand and follow directions.
- Prior management experience is desired.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervise and schedule barista staff.
