About the Role
As a Fountain Worker, you will provide efficient and courteous service to guests while demonstrating salesmanship and friendly hospitality. This position requires a high level of professional and personalized guest service.
Responsibilities
- Attend team update meetings.
- Maintain uniform appearance according to established guidelines.
- Adhere to policies, procedures, and Health Department regulations.
- Greet guests in a friendly and prompt manner to take food and beverage orders.
- Use suggestive selling techniques.
- Know all menu items and the locations of all Rio outlets and guest services.
- Obtain, reconcile, and return cash bank at the beginning and end of shift.
- Accurately input food and beverage orders into the point-of-sale system.
- Follow cash handling procedures and cash register policies.
- Rotate and date all products.
- Invite guests back to the outlet.
- Relay guest complaints to the Manager on duty.
- Keep work area stocked, neat, clean, and organized.
- Prepare coffee products as needed and clean coffee machines daily.
- Follow standards for merchandising, stocking, rotating, and storing all products.
- Complete assigned side work.
- Turnover/takeover station according to established procedures.
- Handle a fast-paced environment, multiple tasks, and time constraints.
- Manage heavy business volume and sensitive situations relating to staff and guest problems.
- Perform physical tasks such as grasping, holding, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
Requirements
- 6 months of previous barista experience; Starbucks experience preferred.
- Effective communication in English, both verbal and written, in a professional manner.
- Neat and professional appearance.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience interacting with customers, the public, and co-workers.
- Proficiency with computers and/or cash registers.
- Previous experience as a barista trainer or training baristas is a plus.
Certifications & Licenses
- Food Handlers certification.
- Ability to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods with frequent bending, stooping, and lifting.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 25-50 pounds unassisted.
- Ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, kneel, and balance in varying work areas, including confined spaces.
Working Conditions
- Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment but may be exposed to noise, dust, and smoke.
- Work in close spaces with others.
- Able to work in outside weather conditions when needed.
