Responsibilities
- Promote trust and respect among associates
- Communicate company, department, and job specific information to associates
- Collaborate with associates and promote teamwork to help achieve company/store goals
- Aid in establishing performance goals for department and empower associates to meet or exceed targets
- Aid in developing and implementing a department business plan to achieve desired results
- Aid in creating and executing sales promotions in partnership with store management
- Absorb and implement the period promotional plan for the department
- Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads
- Maintain an awareness of inventory/stocking conditions
- Schedule daily, weekly and monthly price changes by updating shelf tags and promotional signs
- Absorb and implement the period promotional plan for the department
- Assist in planning, organizing and supervising the inventory process
- Absorb and enforce food safety regulations and guidelines
- Identify unsafe conditions and notify store management
- Report all safety risks, or issues, and illegal activity, including: robbery, theft or fraud
Requirements
- Ability to work cooperatively in high paced and sometimes stressful environment
- Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner
- Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues
- Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults
