About Food & Beverage
The Food & Beverage team enables a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring product is fresh, in stock, available and accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. They are experts of operations, process and efficiency. This team leads food and food services including replenishment, inventory accuracy, food safety, presentation, pricing and promotional signing processes for all Food and Beverage areas of the store.
Role Overview
The role of a Starbucks Barista provides skills and experiences such as providing a consistent Starbucks experience for guests, curating handcrafted Starbucks food, managing food quality and freshness, and adhering to state and federal food safety and OSHA guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Create an easy, inspiring and friendly guest experience by greeting guests, making eye contact, and thanking them after transactions.
- Help guests find what they need, resolve issues, and support team efforts while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Adjust to business and guest needs, delivering an easy and inspiring experience.
- Uphold Food & Beverage Standards and execute processes including deliveries, replenishment, instocks, data accuracy, culling, rotation, cleaning, signing, organizing, and storing reserve product.
- Stay aware of current and future promotions within Starbucks.
- Follow all Target and Starbucks routines to deliver a consistent experience while maintaining food safety.
- Support the Starbucks Drive‑Up process to fulfill digital guest orders accurately and on time.
- Maintain an inviting dining area throughout the shift.
- Engage with guests to exceed expectations based on Starbucks standards.
- Produce handcrafted beverages and food according to recipe cards.
- Monitor and record temperature‑sensitive food items per food‑safety requirements.
- Complete and record all cleaning tasks as outlined in best practices.
- Identify damaged, recalled, or expired items and process them according to best practices.
- Place store‑initiated orders to ensure accurate in‑stock levels.
- Follow proper perishable inventory procedures and execute sampling best practices.
- Complete required training and certifications related to quality control of Starbucks products.
- Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance; report hazards and correct them.
- Support guest services such as backup cashier, order pick‑up, and Drive‑Up while complying with adult beverage laws.
- Perform other duties based on business needs.
Requirements
- Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members.
- Ability to work in a fast‑moving, physically demanding environment; teamwork, flexibility, and creative problem solving.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping times.
- Previous Starbucks or food‑service experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to communicate using multiple‑frequency devices, handheld scanners, and other technology as directed.
- Capability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow multi‑step processes.
- Maintain focus and composure in a fast‑paced setting, handling multiple tasks within established timeframes.
- Access all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues.
- Interpret instructions, reports, and information accurately.
- Accurately handle cash register operations as needed.
- Climb ladders, lift or move merchandise up to 10 lb regularly and up to 44 lb occasionally without assistance.
- Ability to work in refrigeration/freezer temperatures and handle common allergens.
- Capability to work in varying temperatures, humidity, and other environmental conditions, including Drive‑Ups and carry‑out areas.
- Remain mobile for the duration of scheduled shifts.

Pay
Starting hourly rate: $15.00 USD per hour.
Schedule
