About the role

As a Starbucks Barista at Target, you’ll help deliver a consistent Starbucks experience for guests while managing food quality, freshness, and adhering to state and federal food safety and OSHA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Create an easy, inspiring, and friendly guest experience by greeting guests, assisting them with their needs, and ensuring a smooth shopping experience.
• Deliver an exceptional guest experience by maintaining a fresh and abundant shopping environment, prioritizing guest needs over tasks.
• Uphold and maintain Food & Beverage standards, including food deliveries, replenishment, inventory accuracy, culling, rotation, cleaning, signing, and organizing reserve product.
• Stay aware of current and future Starbucks promotions.
• Follow all Target and Starbucks routines to ensure a consistent guest experience while completing tasks efficiently and maintaining food safety.
• Support the Starbucks Drive Up process to fulfill digital guest orders accurately and on time.
• Maintain an inviting dining area for guests throughout your shift.
• Engage with guests to meet and exceed their expectations based on Starbucks standards.
• Produce handcrafted beverages and food according to recipe specifications.
• Follow all food safety requirements, including monitoring and recording temperature-sensitive food items.
• Complete and record all cleaning tasks in the Starbucks space as outlined in best practices.
• Locate and identify damaged, recalled, or expired items and process them according to best practices.
• Ensure accurate in-stocks by placing store-initiated orders according to best practices.
• Follow proper perishable inventory procedures to ensure accurate recording of inventory.
• Execute sampling best practices.
• Complete all required training and certifications related to quality control of Starbucks products.
• Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
• Work safely at all times, comply with safety policies, and report hazards.
• Support guest services such as back-up cashier, order pick-up (OPU), and Drive-Up (DU) while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local adult beverage laws.
• Perform additional duties as needed based on business requirements.

Requirements

• Enjoy interacting and helping others, including guests and team members.

• Open to working a flexible schedule with varying hours, days, or shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and other peak shopping times.
• Access all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues.
• Interpret instructions, reports, and information accurately.
• Handle cash register operations as needed.
• Climb up and down ladders if required.
• Scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving product up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 44 pounds without assistance.
• Work in environments with refrigeration, freezer temperatures, and conditions where common allergens may be present.
• Capable of working in varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing job duties.
• Remain mobile for the duration of scheduled shifts (shift length may vary).

Skills

• Previous Starbucks or food service experience preferred but not required.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members.
• Ability to communicate using multiple frequency devices, handheld scanners, and other technology equipment.
• Work both independently and with a team.
• Resolve guest questions quickly on the spot.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow multi-step processes.
• Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes.

Pay

Starting hourly rate: $20.00 USD per hour.
