Responsibilities
- Create an easy, inspiring, and friendly guest experience by:
- Greeting guests at 10ft (smile, make eye contact, or wave) and 4ft (initiate a warm, helpful interaction)
- Helping guests find what they need or resolving issues for a smooth shopping experience
- Ending every transaction with a sincere thank you
- Support team efforts and assist peers while maintaining a positive and respectful attitude
- Adjust to business and guest needs to deliver an inspiring guest experience
- Provide a fresh and abundant shopping experience during all hours of operation, prioritizing guest needs
- Uphold and maintain Food & Beverage Standards
- Execute food and beverage processes, including:
- Deliveries, replenishment, and instocks routines
- Data accuracy, culling, rotation, cleaning, signing, organizing, and storing reserve product
- Stay aware of current and future Starbucks promotions
- Follow all Target and Starbucks routines to deliver a consistent guest experience while maintaining food safety
- Support the Starbucks Drive Up process to fulfill digital guest orders accurately and on time
- Maintain an inviting dining area for guests throughout the shift
- Engage with guests to meet and exceed expectations based on Starbucks standards
- Produce handcrafted beverages and food according to recipe specifications
- Follow all food safety requirements, including monitoring and recording temperature-sensitive food items
- Complete and record all cleaning tasks in the Starbucks space as outlined in best practices
- Locate and identify damaged, recalled, or expired items and process them according to best practices
- Ensure accurate in-stocks by placing store-initiated orders according to best practices
- Follow proper perishable inventory procedures to ensure accurate recording of inventory
- Execute sampling best practices
- Complete all required training and certifications related to quality control of Starbucks products
- Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance
- Work safely at all times, comply with safety policies, and report hazards
- Support guest services such as back-up cashier, order pick-up (OPU), and Drive-Up (DU) while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local adult beverage laws
- Perform all other duties as needed based on business requirements
Requirements
- Enjoy interacting and helping others, including guests and team members
- Thrive in a fast-moving, highly active, and physically demanding role where teamwork, flexibility, and creative problem-solving are key
- Open to working a flexible schedule with varying hours, days, or shifts (including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping times)
Skills
- Previous Starbucks or food service experience preferred, but not required
- Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members
- Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment
- Ability to work both independently and with a team
- Resolve guest questions quickly on the spot
- Attention to detail and ability to follow multi-step processes
- Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes
- Access all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues
- Interpret instructions, reports, and information accurately
- Handle cash register operations as needed
- Climb up and down ladders if needed
- Scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including:
- Frequently lifting or moving product up to 10 pounds
- Occasionally lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 pounds without additional assistance
- Work in environments that include refrigeration and freezer temperatures and conditions, as well as common allergens
- Capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements (e.g., Drive-Ups, carryout)
- Ability to remain mobile for the duration of scheduled shifts (shift length may vary)
