About the Role

Baristas perform several job duties and provide customer service at Kessler Hospitality’s AAA Four Diamond JW Marriott Savannah Plant Riverside District. Baristas take orders and make coffee, tea, and other drinks to customer specifications, operate cash registers and credit card machines, and deliver outstanding service in a refined, artistically inspired boutique hotel environment.

Location

The JW Marriott Savannah Plant Riverside District is located in the heart of historic Savannah on the riverfront, offering easy access to downtown shopping, dining, bars, walking tours, and vibrant nightlife. The property features three unique buildings—Power Plant, Three Muses, and Atlantic—each enriched with history, chic architecture, and contemporary design. Guests can also enjoy the hotel spa and entertainment district.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a calm demeanor during high-volume periods or unusual events to uphold store standards and set a positive example for the team.
• Anticipates customer and store needs by evaluating the environment and customer cues, communicating observations to management to create a welcoming atmosphere.
• Assists with new partner training by reinforcing successful performance and providing respectful, encouraging coaching.
• Delivers outstanding customer service with a "customer comes first" attitude, discovering and responding to customer needs.
• Follows Starbucks and property operational policies, including cash handling, safety, and security procedures.
• Maintains a clean and organized workspace for efficient resource and product access.
• Ensures regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
• Provides high-quality beverages, whole bean, and food products by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards.
• Follows health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products.
• Performs other duties as requested by management.

Requirements

• Physical ability to occasionally push, pull, lift, or carry up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to stand during entire shifts, with constant reaching, turning, and precision work.
• Maintains a warm, friendly, and professional demeanor at all times.
• Effectively communicates verbally and in writing with associates and guests in an attentive, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
• Listens, understands, and clarifies concerns raised by employees and guests.
• Multitasks and prioritizes to ensure outstanding service.
• Approaches all interactions with guests and associates attentively and courteously.
• Attends all required hotel meetings and trainings.
• Maintains regular attendance in compliance with hotel standards.
• Upholds high standards of personal appearance, uniform, and grooming.
• Identifies problem areas and assists in implementing solutions to maximize productivity.
• Available to work some weekends.
