About the Role

Prepared Food Servers are key players in preparing product, maintaining display cases, using suggestive selling techniques, and building customer loyalty for Market District. You are a team player who knows success comes from setting others up for success. You’re eager to be part of an amazing group and inspire those around you. You’re creative with cuisine and passionate about food trends and customer preferences, seeing every interaction as an opportunity to exchange ideas and learn.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety as the top priority for Team Members, guests, and products.
• Properly handle products and equipment in accordance with food safety and safety guidelines.
• Provide unparalleled guest service, constantly striving to delight and surprise our guests, vendors, and stakeholders.
• Set up and maintain gourmet display cases with fresh items ordered from the central kitchen.
• Use product and food knowledge to help customers make gourmet food choices.
• Operate cash register (if applicable).
• Set up and maintain salad bar, hot bar, or any other gourmet area in the prepared foods section.
• Display a commitment to learn about food and share knowledge with fellow Team Members and guests.
• Cultivate a foodie culture by sharing excitement and passion for food.
• Utilize appropriate suggestive selling techniques.
• Provide active sampling opportunities when appropriate.
• Actively participate in and promote an environment that embraces diversity, inclusion, and respect for Team Members, customers, vendors, and the community.

Requirements

• 0 to 6 months of experience required; prior fresh food, restaurant, or related field experience is helpful.
• Working with bailers, compactors (if age-appropriate).
• No high school diploma required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be at least 16 years of age.
