About the role

The Standardized Patient reports directly to the Simulation Manager. This position involves portraying all characteristics of a real patient, simulating signs, symptoms, and scenarios in a standardized, accurate, and reliable manner for nursing student training.

Responsibilities

• Simulate all aspects of patient scenarios, including history, affect/behavior, and physical findings.
• Accept and incorporate ongoing feedback from facilitators into case simulations.
• Demonstrate flexibility and reliability with scheduling and assignments.
• Follow written and verbal instructions.
• Provide constructive feedback to nursing students and colleagues if requested.
• Work professionally with learners, faculty, supervisors, and peers.
• Consent to being audio and videotaped during simulations.
• Wear moulage (simulated injuries/effects) if needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• No prior experience required; Standardized Patient, health professional, instructor, or acting experience preferred.
• Must complete COD Training for Bloodborne Pathogens and Hazardous Communications.
• Ability to move without difficulty; minimal physical effort or risk exposure.
• Background check required.
• Highly dependable and willing to adapt to scheduling needs.

Pay

$17.59 per hour.

Schedule

Part-time, temporary/casual position with a hybrid remote work option.
