About the role
Primary responsibility is to assist supervisor with day-to-day operations of the Stamping Department to ensure customer requirements are met while ensuring that all Stamping associates are working together in an effective and cooperative manner to complete job requirements as quickly and completely as possible per work instructions and standard work, and provide a safe and efficient working environment.
Schedule
2nd Shift Monday - Friday (2pm - 10:30pm).
Responsibilities
- Assist with 200 / 400 / 1000 Presses change over.
- Stage Dies / Coils for 3 Presses.
- Help troubleshoot jobs if not running correctly.
- Unload steel trucks, check steel in, and put steel coil away.
- Break relief when needed.
- Enter production reports daily.
- Keep tabs on outgoing scrap.
- Tag coils with lump labels.
- Must be cross-trained as a competent backup for all jobs within the department.
- Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels.
- Ensure all work is performed to work instructions and meets 100% customer satisfaction.
- Communicate with shipping and materials department to ensure an adequate supply of required materials, parts, components, and packaging is on hand.
- Return required materials, parts, components, and packaging to designated storage areas at the completion of each production run.
- Transport finished parts to the next required operation or the correct storage location.
- Maintain a positive and cooperative attitude throughout the workday.
- Communicate issues relating to the assigned job with previous/next shift.
- Must be able to drive hi-lo and be properly licensed. Operate hi-lo in accordance with safety guidelines considering speed, visibility, and load size.
- Ensure safety check sheet for equipment is filled out at the beginning of shift. Address any safety issues with hi-lo before its operation.
- Perform duties in an environmentally responsible manner. Have awareness of own role and responsibility with respect to the environment.
- Work with team members/management staff to attain company goals.
- Responsible for maintaining 5S standards as they relate to housekeeping in your assigned work area.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, work rules, safety, and housekeeping standards.
- Follow ISO 14001 and IATF requirements per the standard.
Requirements
- Previous experience preferred, but not required.
- Complete and pass Ventra GR29 LOTO trainings.
- Able to perform in a high-paced environment.
- Must be flexible for change and be able to work well under deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
Working Conditions
- Ability to work in cold and hot environments.
- Upper body mobility is required along with the physical requirements of lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling.
- Must be able to stand 90% of the time.
- Able to lift/carry/move using one or two hands from 1 lb. to 50 lbs.
- Overtime as required.
- Must wear required PPE at all times.
