About the role
The Wiltern is seeking a Stagehand to ensure the success of show and event productions by performing the technical aspects related to the show(s) production.
Responsibilities
- Perform load-in and load-out of band equipment and rental equipment
- Secure required passes and tickets; prepare guest lists under the direction of the Stage Manager
- Handle cabling and assist audio & lighting crew as directed
- Execute band set changes
- Ensure band members have all required items needed to perform
- Communicate evening event details to production crew
- Hang show banners, update marquees, and manage other venue signage
- Coordinate food trays for the band back of house
- Assist lighting & audio crew as directed by Stage Manager or Production Manager; operate spotlight if required
- Maintain and repair sound, light, and stage equipment
- Assist the Stage Manager with show passes
- Maintain and secure house backline and supplies
- Maintain curtains, drapes, risers, and other staging items
- Assist audio crew with stands, microphones, cables, etc.
- Assist lighting crew with fixtures, lamps, gels, cabling, etc.
- Operate and care for stage areas in a safe, clean manner
- Assist with special events operations
- Ensure stage trash is removed and stage is swept or set up for the next show when possible
Requirements
- 3+ years of tour and stage production experience
- Experience with stage lighting, pro audio systems, and basic video systems
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency with all Microsoft applications
- Ability to move up to 75 lbs using proper lifting techniques
- Ability to work in environments with moderate to loud noise levels
- Superior interpersonal communication and organizational skills
- High school diploma (college degree preferred)
Pay
$21.60 – $27.00 USD hourly, based on market location, qualifications, skills, and experience.
