Stage Hand (Temporary - Multiple Positions)

Job Responsibilities

The Stagehand provides technical support for performances, rentals, rehearsals, and special events at Harbison Theatre @ Midlands Technical college. This position assists with the setup, operation, and strike of productions while maintaining a safe, professional, and efficient work environment.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and pull 50 pounds or more on a regular basis.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, work from elevated platforms, and reach overhead for extended periods.
• Ability to work in dimly lit backstage environments and occasionally outdoors.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on event needs.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and work effectively under the direction of supervisors.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to established procedures.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Professional appearance, positive attitude, and excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion while working with performers, touring productions, rental clients, and guests.
• Willingness to learn theatrical production systems, including lighting, audio, rigging, and stage equipment, through on-the-job training.
• Ability to provide courteous and professional customer service to artists, patrons, clients, vendors, volunteers, and fellow employees.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous theatre, concert, event, or production experience.
