Staffing - Technical Writer I

About the role

Location: Fairport, NY (Perinton, a suburb of Rochester). Shift: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Contract duration: 6 months, with possible extension based on demand.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve work instructions, standard operating procedures, troubleshooting guides, and job aids.
• Work closely with subject matter experts, engineers, and operations to gather information.
• Research and analyze technical information from various sources.
• Review and edit documentation for clarity, consistency, and style.
• Manage documentation projects, including planning, scheduling, and tracking progress.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in English, Communication, Technical Writing, Engineering, or a science field.
• 3 or more years of technical writing experience.
• Proficient with common office software tools.
• Ability to understand and document technical processes.
• Excellent written communication skills and strong attention to detail.

Preferred / Bonus

• Experience with PTC Windchill.
• Knowledge of optics or precision manufacturing.
