Staffing Specialist - Clinical Resource Office

About the role

Position Overview United Health Services is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Staffing Specialist to support nursing operations across Wilson Medical Center and Binghamton General Hospital. This role coordinates daily staffing to ensure coverage aligns with patient needs, maintains accurate schedules in staffing systems, and communicates real-time updates to nursing leadership. The Staffing Specialist also supports census management, assists with patient flow and transfers, and prepares staffing summaries to guide operational decisions. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who is comfortable with technology and thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates daily staffing to ensure coverage aligns with patient needs
• Maintains accurate schedules in staffing systems
• Communicates real-time updates to nursing leadership
• Supports census management
• Assists with patient flow and transfers
• Prepares staffing summaries to guide operational decisions
• Responds to call-offs and staffing gaps
• Performs administrative support tasks
• Delivers excellent customer service while collaborating with clinical teams

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) or similar electronic tools
• 1 year experience working in a healthcare related field

Qualifications

• Previous healthcare scheduling experience in acute setting
• Associate’s degree in healthcare administration, Business Administration, or related field
• NYS Certified Nursing Assistant (preferred)
• MOA (preferred)
• EMT (preferred)

Pay

$19.37 - $28.09 per hour, depending on experience

Schedule

Evening rotational, 32 hours per week, every third weekend
