Good Samaritan Home of Quincy is seeking a Staffing Coordinator to oversee scheduling responsibilities for the nursing department in compliance with state and federal regulations, ensuring optimal staffing levels to meet resident needs.
Responsibilities
- Work with Human Resources to determine staffing levels and make recommendations for the nursing department.
- Plan, develop, and post monthly staff schedules to achieve staffing goals, productivity, and cost targets.
- Receive call-ins for the nursing department and cover open positions as needed.
- Print daily schedules from On-shift, assign staff to neighborhoods, and make adjustments as necessary.
- Post monthly employee schedules at least two weeks in advance.
- Schedule make-ups for employees who missed a weekend shift.
- Monitor daily punches to ensure accurate time tracking for employees.
- Approve overtime hours for the nursing department.
- Complete and record attendance sheets for absences, early leaves, and tardiness.
- Input absences, early leaves, tardies, missed punches, and PTO into the system.
- Document employee status changes and notify Payroll and Human Resources.
- Assign NCNPs to accompany residents to medical appointments outside the facility.
- Maintain an updated list of employee phone numbers.
- Participate in counseling or disciplinary actions as requested or necessary.
- Assist in the interviewing process to meet staffing needs efficiently.
- Serve on facility committees as directed by the Director of Nursing.
- Monitor worker’s compensation claims and complete Post-Accident Investigation Reports.
- Track and record missed hours and alternate duty hours for worker’s compensation.
- Complete alternate duty forms and assign staff accordingly.
- Field complaints and escalate to Resident Care Coordinators, Director of Nursing, or Assistant Director of Nursing.
- Assist with scanning medical records as time permits.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Proven leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to work under high-stress conditions.
- Passionate, ambitious, and eager to improve.
- Computer-literate.
Pay
$17.85 - $19.85/hr, bi-weekly pay.
