Principal Responsibilities
- Prepares all schedules for the nursing units and maintains four (4) weeks of posted schedules on the nursing units.
- Oversees nursing department scheduling in an objective manner, including vacations and holidays.
- Performs nursing department corrective action in accordance with company policy.
- Ensures accuracy of nursing payroll, including verifying hours worked, absences, vacations, PTO, etc.; verifies accuracy of timesheets with schedules and reconciles all attendance data for clinical department.
- Aids in the training of new employees, and offers guidance, assistance, and direction during orientation and thereafter.
- Responds appropriately to inquiries and complaints about staffing and scheduling, taking the initiative to resolve problems with appropriate action and follow through, including documentation.
- Completes nursing hours reports daily.
- Completes scheduling and paperwork for new nursing employees.
- Keeps schedules up to date with personnel changes.
- Fills in as needed and within scope of practice with clinical direct care and other duties in nursing.
- Increase staff retention through the development of efficient scheduling.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Currently licensed as a CNA in the state practiced.
- Minimum of one-year long term care experience required.
- Strong personal organization and time management ability with attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Excel and Word applications.
