Staffing Coordinator
About the role
Sapphire Health Services specializes in providing comprehensive care and living solutions tailored to meet the diverse needs of seniors and individuals requiring specialized support. We are seeking a dedicated Staffing Coordinator to manage recruitment, new hire orientation, and staffing functions within our skilled nursing facility, ensuring adequate staffing levels, compliance with regulatory requirements, and support for HR-related activities.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain clinical staffing schedules to ensure sufficient coverage for all shifts.
- Coordinate with department heads to identify staffing needs and fill open positions.
- Implement strategies to reduce overtime and ensure cost-effective staffing.
- Ensure vacant positions are filled to meet staffing requirements.
- Approve time off and promote good attendance.
- Ensure all required employment and labor law posters are displayed within the facility.
- Create and maintain required staffing reports to remain in compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Arrange new hire training and support the new employee orientation process.
- Maintain staff records and track required certifications.
- Coordinate the recruitment process, including job postings, resume screening, interviewing, and hiring, if needed.
- Conduct background checks, reference checks, and credential verification.
- Facilitate the onboarding process, including orientation and training for new hires.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personnel files and HR databases.
- Promote employee engagement and retention through recognition programs, team-building activities, and regular feedback.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Experience in staffing roles, preferably in a healthcare or skilled nursing facility.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
