Responsibilities

  • Receives nursing department sick calls, in addition to assisting with finding coverage for long term LOAs.
  • Makes sure nursing is assigned, including per diems, constant attendants and UR/PCTs.
  • Reports all significant variances in staffing distribution to appropriate management personnel.
  • Manages and maintains the Staffing & Scheduling System and its users.
  • Distributes and maintains nursing schedules.
  • Supports staff, directors, and CNO/Vice President.
  • Generates, evaluates, interprets, and distributes various staffing reports.
  • Initiates and handles specific functions and procedures for emergency plans.
  • Attends regular meetings with Administration/Patient Services.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Education: Associate's Degree in Business or Office Management preferred.
  • Computer course with emphasis on keyboarding, PCs, spreadsheets, word processing, data base systems preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in health care setting preferred.
  • Previous experience with computer systems, relative to patient classification system and staffing and scheduling or a similar field preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must be proficient in Reasoning, Math, Reading, Writing, Speaking clearly and with confidence.
  • Demonstrates the ability to plan, organize, direct and control the flow of communication and tasks within the job duties and responsibilities independently.
  • Ability to perform detailed assignments, work efficiently under pressure and relate to hospital staff while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
  • Maintains a high degree of concentration despite numerous interruptions.
  • Displays knowledge of employees and their skill level in order to distribute resources appropriately.
