About the role

This is a permanent, full-time position as a Staff Substitute Teacher for our Elementary School, beginning in the 2026/2027 school year. You will be a full-time member of our dynamic staff with access to benefits.

Responsibilities

• Student Learning: Take ownership of student achievements and learning progress, ensuring they meet or exceed the school’s high standards. Actively develop solutions to challenges and utilize school-provided resources.
• Teaching and Assessment: Plan and deliver engaging, measurable lessons within the school’s standards-aligned framework. Use provided curricular materials or design your own. Administer regular formative assessments to tailor instruction to student needs.
• Culture and Classroom Management: Model and communicate behaviors aligned with the school’s high expectations and caring climate. Apply school and classroom rules consistently, use preventive discipline, and supervise students effectively.
• Teamwork and Professional Development: Collaborate with peers, participate in planning meetings, and engage in professional learning communities. Attend professional development sessions to support your growth and that of your colleagues.
• Special Needs Students and English Language Learners: Work with special education and ELL staff to implement programs and comply with state and federal regulations.

Requirements

• Must hold a substitute teaching certificate issued by the NJ Department of Education.
• Experience working with children and strong classroom management skills.
• Preferred: Teaching certification or progress toward certification. Growth opportunities are available for aspiring teachers.
