About the role
Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Staff Structural Engineer to join their team in the Dallas/Fort Worth office. The ideal candidate should have experience in global facilities markets and possess strong knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis, design, and construction phase services for various types of facilities including power generation, manufacturing, data centers, and other buildings.
- Coordinate departmental and divisional project studies and prepare reports.
- Solve difficult problems using new approaches and adapt standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
- Work independently with judgment and adaptability, often involving complex features and a variety of specialties.
- Collaborate with team members and coordinate efforts to ensure project success.
- Develop new approaches to problems encountered and devise innovative solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited program with 3 years of structural engineering experience.
- Master's Degree in Structural Engineering with 2 years of structural engineering experience.
- Experience in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
- Strong computer skills including structural analysis programs (RISA 3D), AutoCAD, ETABS, SAFE, and BIM software (Revit and Tekla).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Engineers in Training (EIT) Certification preferred.
Qualifications
