Staff Structural Engineer - Hybrid - Remote working anywhere in US
About the role
Arcadis is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer with 6 or more years of project experience to join our growing team. This role is an excellent fit for someone motivated by tackling complex structural challenges, working with a wide range of materials, leading technical efforts, and collaborating within multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Engineer of Record (EOR) to establish codes, loads, analysis methods, and tools; seismic analysis experience is a plus.
- Perform technical work with an increased level of complexity with senior review.
- Work directly with a variety of engineering disciplines, office/project staff, client, and subcontractors, throughout the project life cycle, and have clear and concise, oral and written communication skills.
- Develop calculations, plans, specifications, and other contract documents.
- Exercise judgment on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
- Perform Construction Administration duties, including completing field observation reports, responding to RFIs, submittal reviews.
- Traveling, as needed, for project-related activities such as client meetings and site visits.
Requirements
- 6 or more years of relevant structural engineering project experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License or Senior EIT candidate looking to write their PE exam in the next 6 months.
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
- Strong problem-solving skills with critical thinking and initiative.
- Excellent working knowledge of all USA National codes and standards, such as IBC, ACI, AISC, etc.
- Strong technical software skills related to: RISA, ETABS, BIM tools, Revit, AutoCAD.
- Effective communication skills - oral and written.
Qualifications
- Strong technical background in structural engineering.
- Experience with seismic analysis is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Skills
- Proficiency in structural analysis software (RISA, ETABS, etc.)
- Knowledge of building codes and standards (IBC, ACI, AISC, etc.)
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Pay
The salary range for this position is $85,000-$125,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
Schedule
This role is currently a hybrid schedule, combining both remote and in-office work. However, some travel may be required for project work and client visits within the United States.
