We are seeking a Staff or Senior Staff Systems Engineer to support the integration and certification of software for defense applications. You will work within a team delivering modeling and simulation software for Missile Warning and Missile Defense. You will implement systems engineering and testing processes in support of an Agile software development program whose members consist of Scientists, Engineers, and Developers. The ideal candidate brings strong systems engineering knowledge, the ability to generate software verification and validation test plans, and develop programatic documentation. Responsibilities Perform requirements derivation, decomposition, allocation, and traceability Support internal and external testing to verify system and software conformance to applicable standards Lead development of software verification test planning to support certification and evaluation for operational useMaintain MBSE model of system architecturesCollaborate with SciTec staff in systems engineering processes, methods, and best practices Develop and maintain systems engineering artifacts, including requirements documents, architecture descriptions, certification evidence, and other program documentation as requiredCommunicate technical concepts clearly through written documentation and verbal briefings Lead the effort to develop integrated testing architectures and processesPerform other duties as assigned Requirements Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physical Sciences, or a related technical field 2+ years of professional experience in systems engineering Strong attention to detail and ability to manage complex technical information Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability and willingness to work on site in Boulder, Colorado Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET security clearance Candidates who have one or more of the following skills will be preferred Active DoD SECRET clearanceExperience supporting certification, evaluation, or operational approval of software or communications systems Experience supporting systems engineering programs in the defense or aerospace sectors Familiarity with PythonExperience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Familiarity with SysML and tools such as Cameo / MagicDrawAcademic credentials or professional certification in systems engineering (e.g., INCOSE)Resumes, Cover Letters, and Applications which are generated by AI will not be considered for employment.
