HybridEngineering$198k–$268k/yrFull-time

About the role

The modeling team in Arm’s Central Engineering Software (CE-SW) division enables customers across domains such as IoT, Client, and Infrastructure to develop and validate software on Arm IP-based systems. We develop functional models of Arm Interconnect IP down to the micro-architectural level. Together with other SoC models these form Arm Virtual Platforms used to emulate complete hardware systems alongside software stacks such as Linux and Android. These platforms enable partners to start software development earlier, accelerate validation, and perform advanced debugging and system analysis, including into low-level memory bus transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain robust, efficient C++ models of Arm’s Interconnect IP for system-level simulation.
  • Own technical investigations and resolve modeling and integration issues.
  • Deliver models incrementally to support evolving partner requirements and enable early feedback.
  • Collaborate with architects and hardware engineers to model next-generation hardware while specifications and designs are still evolving.
  • Work with CE-SW engineers to integrate software on Arm Virtual Platforms, debug system-level issues, and improve modeling workflows.
  • Contribute to and help drive technical discussions through clear communication, technical judgment, and collaborative problem solving.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Strong C++ development skills with proven experience building robust and efficient software.
  • Good understanding of computer architecture concepts such as memory hierarchy, interconnects, and system-level behavior.
  • Able to own complex technical problems using good engineering judgment to reason through trade-offs, structure maintainable solutions, handle ambiguity, and apply appropriate software development practices.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to explain technical issues clearly to a range of stakeholders and work effectively across teams.

Nice To Have Skills and Experience

  • Experience with programmer’s view modeling, instruction-level simulators (e.g. QEMU, Simics, Gem5, Virtualizer), or SoC virtual prototyping using C++, SystemC, or TLM.
  • Experience with low-level software, firmware, or device-driver development.
