What To Expect

As a Software Engineer on Tesla’s Digital Product Engineering team, you will be responsible for:

  • Designing, developing, and supporting applications and systems within the team's scope, including new and used vehicle ordering, configuration inventory management, and associated sales, incentives, and fees management platform.
  • Leading technical efforts to onboard Tesla products into new international markets, ensuring compliance with regional requirements and seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Designing and building AI-powered chatbot solutions to assist users with ordering, payment, and fee-related inquiries, driving self-service adoption and reducing operational support load.
  • Identifying, designing, and implementing enhancements to improve the scalability, reliability, and efficiency of order processing workflows.
  • Monitoring production systems, analyzing real-time metrics, responding to alerts, and proactively addressing system performance and availability concerns.
  • Writing clean, maintainable, performant, and well-tested code to deliver new features and resolve technical issues.
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with Product, Design, Engineering, and Business teams to plan and prioritize feature development.
  • Adapting quickly to evolving business priorities and technical requirements in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Developing workflows that leverage Large Language Models (LLMs) and agentic AI to improve decision-making, automate planning, and adapt to vehicle inspection, used car valuation based on competitor prices.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science, proof of exceptional skills in related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of related practical experience in software engineering.
  • Expertise with databases, including MySQL for structured data management and OpenSearch/Elasticsearch for search, indexing, and analytics.
  • Good unit testing and integration testing practices.
  • Flexible and motivated self-starter with excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
  • Experience writing code in programming languages like C#, Go, Python, or JavaScript.
  • Knowledge about JavaScript (ES5/6), HTML, CSS, and the React framework for building intuitive frontend interfaces.
  • Familiarity with AI integration, including LLMs for tasks like generating pricing insights and agentic AI workflows for adaptive user experiences.

Pay

The expected compensation range for this position is $200,000 - $300,000 annually, with details of participation in these benefit plans provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
