Staff Software Engineer - ITAM

About the role

The Software Asset Management product empowers organizations to manage software licensing and compliance with precision. Our engineers build performance-efficient algorithms that help customers achieve the most accurate licensing position possible. You’ll be responsible for the full software development lifecycle—from design and implementation to testing and delivery—while partnering closely with product managers, architects, and quality engineers. Together, we improve product quality, efficiency, and performance.

Responsibilities

• Build high-quality, clean, scalable, and reusable code by enforcing best practices around software engineering architecture and processes (Code Reviews, Unit Testing, etc.)
• Own your code from design through implementation, test automation, and delivery
• Collaborate with product managers to define feature sets that solve real customer problems
• Work with architects to shape product design and with QE to enhance quality and performance
• Contribute to new product features and enhance existing offerings
• Mentor peers and promote knowledge-sharing across the team

Qualifications

• Experience in leveraging critical thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving.
• This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI’s potential impact on the function or industry.
• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with a track record of delivering high-quality products.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or similar object-oriented languages.
• Experience with modern front-end frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, design patterns, and performance optimization.
• Familiarity with automated testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit, Selenium, TestNG) and integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding software quality principles including reliability, observability, and production readiness.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex systems and optimize performance across the stack.
• Experience with AI-powered tools or workflows, including validation of datasets, model predictions, and inference consistency.
• Comfort with development tools such as IDEs, debuggers, profilers, source control, and Unix-based systems.

Benefits

For positions in this location, we offer a base pay of $166,500 - $291,400, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure.

Pay

Base pay is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location. We also offer health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, a flexible time away plan and family leave programs. Compensation is based on the geographic location in which the role is located and is subject to change based on work location.
