Staff, Software Engineer - iOS
About the role
The Marketplace Team at Walmart is seeking a Staff Engineer to lead and participate in the design and development of iOS mobile software systems. You will be deeply involved in creating innovative features that enhance the shopping experience for both customers and sellers.
What you'll do
- Lead and participate in the design and development of iOS mobile software systems, ensuring high-quality code and adherence to best practices.
- Design and implement sophisticated features in Walmart iOS applications.
- Analyze and optimize iOS applications.
- Manage code & configurations for multiple environments, release management process, creating and maintaining environment configuration and controls, code integrity, and work closely with platform team.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and define technical specifications.
- Lead the discovery phase of medium to large projects to come up with high-level design.
- Troubleshoot business and production issues.
- Raise the bar on sustainable engineering by improving best practices, producing best-in-class code, documentation, testing, and monitoring.
- Identify and continuously improve existing software systems, identifying areas for optimization and enhancement.
What you'll bring
- 11+ years of experience in design and development of highly scalable iOS applications in product-based companies.
- 10+ years experience with pure native development.
- 6+ years experience on Swift for iOS staff.
- Strong technical background, with expertise in computer systems fundamentals, DS/Algorithms, and problem-solving skills.
- Shipped three or more iOS applications which are still available in the App Store.
- Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Familiarity and comfort with compilers, linkers, build systems, and project configuration.
- Experience in delivering software using Test Driven Development (TDD), Clean Code, SOLID principles, Extreme Programming (XP), and other best practices.
- Experience and knowledge of open-source software, frameworks, and broader cutting-edge technologies.

Minimum Qualifications
- Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
- Option 2: 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related area.

Additional Compensation
The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00 - $286,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Stock.
