Staff Software Engineer, Identity & Access Management

For our client, a leader in the Enterprise Technology space, we are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to focus on Identity & Access Management. This role will lead technical work on secure, reliable systems and risk-aware execution, collaborating across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and long-term technology capabilities in a technology-driven environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and evolve the authorization platform to manage user permissions effectively
• Develop and enhance the authentication platform for diverse use cases
• Oversee the user management platform responsible for user identity across customers
• Collaborate with security teams to implement secure design practices in the identity platforms
• Define and promote long-term roadmaps for authentication, authorization, and user management domains
• Create scalable systems to handle a growing user base seamlessly
• Implement self-service APIs that improve accessibility to identity management systems for product teams

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in backend engineering, particularly in identity and access management systems
• Proficiency in Java 2X, Spring Boot 3.X.X, and web application development
• Experience with SQL, GraphQL, gRPC, and REST APIs for data interactions
• Familiarity with AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, and Helm for cloud infrastructure
• In-depth understanding of security protocols including OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML 2.0, and SCIM for user provisioning

Pay

$202,400 – $278,300 annually
