About the role

The Advertising Business Systems (ABS) team within the Advertising Technology group at Walmart Global Tech builds scalable platforms supporting Advertisers, Agencies, Partners, and internal stakeholders. The team focuses on Lead Generation, CRM, Onboarding, Business Management, Media Planning, Order Management, Billing, Insights, Generative AI, and Third Party Tools. ABS delivers intelligent solutions that enhance advertiser engagement and operational efficiency. By aligning technology with business goals, the team drives advertising revenue growth and expands platform capabilities beyond Walmart Connect.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver platform capabilities including infrastructure, tooling, and ML frameworks aligned with roadmap milestones and domain priorities.
  • Apply cloud-native architecture principles to ensure scalable, resilient, and agile systems.
  • Lead full software development lifecycle activities including coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
  • Carry out system design reviews to validate technical feasibility and ensure alignment with architectural standards.
  • Build AI-driven applications and integrate ML components using multiple programming languages.
  • Mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, and promote engineering excellence through documentation and knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical requirements and track success metrics.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, tools, and products.

Requirements

  • Proven expertise in cloud-native architecture, including microservices, containers, and automation to ensure scalable and resilient systems.
  • Strong experience in software development lifecycle management, encompassing coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, and maintenance.
  • Proficiency in conducting system design reviews to validate technical feasibility and alignment with architectural standards.
  • Skilled in API design, software prototyping, and applying software design patterns for secure, maintainable, and modular solutions.
  • Ability to integrate AI/ML components using languages such as Python, JavaScript, and C++.
  • Demonstrated leadership in mentoring engineers and influencing technical decisions.
  • Data-driven approach to problem definition, metrics tracking, and continuous improvement.
  • Effective collaboration and communication across technical and business stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Option 2: 7 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
