Staff Software Engineer - Full Stack AI (Bangkok based, Relocation provided)

About the role

Lead full-stack architecture and system design for features used by millions of customers. Own complex end-to-end systems and mentor high-performing teams. Guide technical decisions across several squads, driving engineering excellence. Collaborate with Product and Design to deliver cohesive, user-centered solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design and build AI-driven chat experiences that power Agoda’s AI Assistant, trip planning and discovery, customer support flows, and proactive recommendations.
• Work closely with engineers, data scientists, and product managers to define, build, and scale the next generation of AI solutions.
• Create measurable impact on traveler experience and business outcomes, while upholding Agoda’s standards for privacy, reliability, and the responsible use of AI.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering (web, backend, or full stack).
• Expertise in Java, Kotlin, .NET, and JavaScript/TypeScript plus frameworks like Node.js, React, etc.
• Proven experience leading end-to-end architecture on high-traffic platforms.
• Track record of technical mentorship, cross-team collaboration, and solving ambiguous problems.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Experience with machine learning and natural language processing technologies.
• Strong understanding of cloud services and infrastructure.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Skills

• Strong programming skills in Java, Kotlin, .NET, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with front-end technologies such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• Knowledge of database management systems and SQL.
• Experience with agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
• Ability to communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders.
