What You'll Do

  • Deliver platform capabilities including infrastructure, tooling, and machine learning frameworks aligned with roadmap priorities
  • Lead full software development lifecycle activities such as coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance
  • Apply cloud-native architecture principles to ensure scalable, resilient, and agile systems
  • Conduct system design reviews to validate quality and alignment with architectural standards
  • Develop AI-driven applications and integrate machine learning components to enhance automation
  • Mentor engineers, promote technical growth, and influence architectural decisions
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate complex problems into actionable technical requirements
  • Drive continuous improvement through data-driven practices and innovation

What You'll Bring

  • Proven expertise in cloud-native architecture, including microservices, containers, and automation to ensure scalable and resilient systems
  • Strong proficiency in software design patterns, API design, and software prototyping to deliver maintainable and modular solutions
  • Experience driving full software development lifecycle activities, including coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, and observability
  • Ability to integrate AI/ML components using languages such as JavaScript, Python, Java, or C++
  • Demonstrated skills in DevOps engineering and platform tooling to enhance engineering productivity
  • Data-driven decision-making capabilities to define metrics and optimize development processes
  • Effective collaboration and mentorship skills to support technical growth and team success

Minimum Qualifications

  • Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years' experience in software engineering or related area
  • Option 2: 6 years' experience in software engineering or related area

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related area
  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly
  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices and commitment to creating accessible products and services following Walmart's accessibility standards and guidelines for supporting an inclusive culture

Pay

Annual salary range: $110,000.00 - $220,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses and stock for certain positions.

Schedule

Full-time position with PTO and/or PPTO that can be used for vacation, sick leave, holidays, or other purposes. Amount depends on job classification and length of employment and meets or exceeds paid sick leave laws where applicable.
