Staff Software Engineer, Enterprise Data Warehouse (Remote)
About the role
For our client, we are seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Enterprise Data Warehouse (Remote) to join the team of a leader in the Retail & Consumer Goods space. This role will focus on building and maintaining a scalable enterprise data warehouse that supports analytics, reporting, and data-driven decision-making across the organization. The engineer will partner closely with product teams and technical stakeholders to translate business needs into clear, testable solutions. Success in this position will require strong technical leadership, collaboration across teams, and a focus on performance, reliability, and cost efficiency. This is a remote position for US-based candidates only; no visa sponsorship is available.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, deploy, and maintain software with a focus on delivering value
- Actively seek growth opportunities and learn from both successes and failures
- Create innovative strategies for organizational success and communicate effectively with diverse audiences
- Collaborate with product teams to ensure user stories are clear and testable
- Provide guidance to junior engineers and lead technical discussions
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in backend data engineering or analytics platform engineering
- Strong hands-on experience with cloud data warehouses, preferably BigQuery
- Advanced SQL expertise and strong working knowledge of Python
- Proven experience designing enterprise-grade data models
- Experience with CI/CD and orchestration frameworks like Jenkins and Airflow
- Strong understanding of performance tuning and cost optimization techniques
- Ability to influence architectural decisions across teams

Pay
$120,000 – $190,000 annually
