Staff Software Engineer, DevOps
About the role
For our client, we are seeking a Staff Software Engineer, DevOps to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space. This role will own the design and implementation of scalable DevOps practices that improve security, reliability, and operational efficiency across the engineering environment. The position will partner closely with software teams to standardize delivery workflows, strengthen cloud operations, and support incident response through better observability. Success in this role will also include driving automation, optimizing cloud costs, and enabling more effective deployments across a complex multi-cloud landscape. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Responsibilities
- Establish and implement CI/CD patterns for software solutions
- Design solutions that ensure security and operational effectiveness
- Administer IAM constructs to strengthen security compliance
- Implement observability tools for incident response and monitoring
- Build and deploy CI/CD pipelines for standardized workflows
- Design cost optimization strategies in cloud environments
- Automate provisioning and deployments using IaC tools
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in a related role
Skills
- Proficiency with AWS, Azure, OpenShift, and IBM Cloud
- Experience with CI/CD practices using Jenkins and Travis CI
- Familiarity with observability tools like the ELK stack, Grafana, and Prometheus
- Knowledge of Kubernetes management and Helm chart development
- Skills in Infrastructure-as-Code with Terraform

$168,675 – $229,900 annually
