Staff Software Engineer, Developer Experience

About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Developer Experience to join the team of a leader in the Consumer Technology space. This role will shape the engineering environment that supports developers across the organization, with a strong focus on speed, reliability, and scale. You will lead improvements to local and remote development workflows, CI/CD infrastructure, and pre-production systems that help teams ship with confidence. The position also plays a key part in advancing AI-powered developer tooling and defining the metrics used to measure developer productivity and platform health.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical direction for local and remote development environments
• Oversee CI pipeline infrastructure and the commit-to-feedback loop
• Manage the architecture of pre-production environments
• Ensure reliability and resilience of git infrastructure at monorepo scale
• Drive advancements in AI-powered developer tooling
• Design multi-quarter initiatives to enhance developer velocity
• Define and monitor developer experience metrics

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software development experience
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD systems at scale, including Buildkite and GitHub Actions
• Experience building or operating local and remote development environments
• Proven track record of leading cross-team technical initiatives
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, AWS preferred, and containerization with Docker
• Strong technical leadership skills, including mentoring and influencing others

Pay

$229,000 – $241,000 annually
