Staff Software Engineer, Data Infrastructure

Responsibilities

• Translate the company’s data strategy into a detailed architecture roadmap for scalability and efficiency
• Own the architecture of the open lakehouse, defining storage governance and multi-engine compute portfolios
• Drive the infrastructure for real-time and streaming use cases, establishing SLAs and operational patterns
• Pioneer AI-native approaches in data infrastructure to enhance development and cost optimization
• Mentor senior engineers and lead architecture reviews, ensuring transparency in decision-making processes

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering focused on data infrastructure or distributed systems at scale
• Proven expertise in data lakehouse architectures and open table formats like Apache Iceberg and Delta Lake
• Hands-on experience with event-driven and streaming infrastructure such as Kafka and Flink
• Demonstrated ownership of significant platform transitions or migrations delivered to production
• Strong ability to model cost/benefit and TCO for infrastructure and communicate strategies effectively to align teams
