Staff Software Engineer, Cloud Infrastructure

For our client, we are seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Cloud Infrastructure to join the team of a leader in the Business Services space. This role will focus on building and operating cloud-native infrastructure that supports secure, efficient, and highly available systems at scale. The ideal candidate will partner closely with infrastructure engineers and other technical teams to simplify complexity, improve reliability, and drive performance across the platform. You will contribute to the evolution of distributed systems and public cloud architecture in a fast-moving, collaborative environment. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $212,000 – $265,000 annually Responsibilities Innovate and build cloud-native infrastructure using public cloud technologies Deliver secure, efficient, and highly available frameworks that simplify infrastructure complexity Optimize and enhance existing systems to improve performance and operational efficiency Improve system availability by implementing best practices in distributed systems Collaborate with infrastructure engineers and cross-functional partners to support the company's technology growth Qualifications 10+ years of industry experience with a BS/Masters, or 2+ years with a PhD in Computer Science, or equivalent experience Proven track record in developing and operating large-scale technical projects Expertise with public cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) and their IaaS offerings Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes Strong problem-solving abilities and solid production debugging skills Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration across teams Full-cycle developer mentality with experience in high-scale, distributed systems Benefits Remote work eligibility with occasional office attendance Opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies in a collaborative environment Potential for bonuses and equity Employee travel credits Access to a supportive and innovative team culture Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
