Staff Software Engineer, Batch and Realtime Streaming

For our client, a leader in the Finance & Insurance space, we are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join their team and lead technical initiatives focused on scalable systems, platform reliability, and meaningful business transformation.

About the role

You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement core components for the Batch and Realtime Streaming platform
• Ship new features through collaboration across multiple organizational teams
• Collaborate with ML researchers to design intuitive interfaces for feature discovery
• Ensure data quality and governance with robust versioning and monitoring mechanisms
• Optimize data pipelines for performance and scalability in both batch and real-time applications
• Drive adoption of the feature store across teams through documentation and support
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the team’s technical excellence

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 10+ years of software engineering experience in distributed computing and data infrastructure
• Proficiency in programming languages like Python and Go
• Familiarity with database technologies such as Postgres, MySQL, and Cassandra
• Strong problem-solving abilities focused on high-quality solutions
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with engineering and research teams

Pay

$130,000 – $180,000 annually
