About the role

The Staff Software Engineer, Backend, Money Team will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance backend systems that power critical financial transactions. This role requires expertise in modern web technologies and a strong understanding of security best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable backend systems using Python/Django, Node.js, or other relevant technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including frontend developers, product managers, and designers to ensure seamless integration and user experience.
  • Develop and maintain robust security measures to protect sensitive financial data.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of the codebase.
  • Stay current with emerging trends in backend development and security.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Experience with Python/Django, Node.js, or similar backend frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
  • Experience with database design and optimization.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in version control systems (Git).

Qualifications

  • Experience with security protocols and practices, including encryption, authentication, and authorization.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools (CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
