Staff Software Engineer, Backend

About the role

Note: This is an in-office role. Coco is an office-first, highly collaborative and cross-functional company. We are looking for someone who is excited about the energy, collaboration, and culture-building opportunities of an in-office work environment.

Responsibilities

• Owning and driving products from design to development to testing to production
• Working closely with product managers to understand the needs of users (merchants, consumers, and internal stakeholders)
• Proposing technical solutions
• Structuring and managing projects for junior engineers
• Reporting on impact

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent technical experience
• 7+ years of professional software development experience
• Experience designing and leading the implementation of new platform features and services, including their deployment in AWS
• Experience supporting business-critical services in production (3+ yr)
• Experience with Go (3+ yr)
• Strong SQL database fundamentals (3+ yr)
• Experience with message queue & pub/sub frameworks such as Kafka or RabbitMQ (2+ yr)

Qualifications

• Preferred qualifications include:
• Experience with Kubernetes resources & Helm charts
• Experience with Terraform
• Experience with Typescript
• Experience working in a startup environment

Skills

• Go (3+ yr)
• SQL database fundamentals (3+ yr)
• Message queue & pub/sub frameworks such as Kafka or RabbitMQ (2+ yr)
