Job Summary

At Voyant Bio, a Merck Digital Sciences Studio-backed startup, we are revolutionizing cancer treatment by unlocking the power of immune-immune cell interactions to unleash more effective immunity against cancer. We’re on a mission to help patients who are unresponsive to current immunotherapies, with groundbreaking discoveries published in Nature Medicine during my time as faculty at Mount Sinai. We’re hiring a Director/VP of Machine Learning/Computational Biology!

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of advanced computational models for immune-oncology research
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including biologists, clinicians, and software engineers to integrate and analyze complex data sets
  • Develop and maintain state-of-the-art machine learning algorithms to predict patient response to treatments
  • Advise on the integration of computational biology techniques into clinical trials and drug development pipelines
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and ethical guidelines in all computational biology and machine learning projects

Requirements

  • PhD in Computational Biology, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Proven track record of leading computational biology and machine learning initiatives in a high-growth startup environment
  • Experience in genomics, transcriptomics, and/or imaging data analysis
  • Strong background in machine learning, deep learning, and statistical modeling
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Qualifications

  • Expertise in computational biology and machine learning
  • Experience with large-scale genomic and imaging datasets
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and ethical considerations in computational biology and machine learning

Skills

  • Proficiency in Python, R, and/or other programming languages relevant to computational biology and machine learning
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure
  • Understanding of natural language processing and bioinformatics tools
