Primary Responsibilities
- Hands-On Development – Design, build, and maintain backend systems, APIs, and services.
- Write high-quality, efficient, and maintainable code.
- Serve as the go-to technical leader for the team, guiding design decisions and setting engineering standards.
- Mentor and support junior developers, providing guidance, feedback, and technical coaching.
- Contribute to and help shape scalable, secure, and maintainable system architecture.
- Lead code reviews and promote best practices across the codebase.
- Analyze complex technical challenges and implement effective solutions.
- Partner closely with product, design, and other engineers to deliver features and improvements.
- Ensure systems meet high standards for security, performance, and reliability.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Demonstrated extensive experience in designing, developing, and maintaining complex software solutions.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
- Expertise with Spring and Hibernate.
- Experience implementing SSO solutions such as SAML and OpenID.
- Experience with MySQL or other RDBMS.
- Self-starter who takes initiative and helps to define the product design.
- Comfortable working in an agile development process.
- Must like dogs (they are in the office, everyday).
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science, or equivalent field.
- 8–12+ years of software engineering experience, with strong backend development expertise.

Pay
The Base Salary range for this position is between $180,000-$220,000. This information reflects a base salary range that AssetMark reasonably expects to pay for the position based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and actual work location. This position will also be eligible for additional variable incentive compensation and competitive benefits.
