Staff, Software Engineer

Position Summary

Amends serves as the platform that powers an experience for the customer to edit their orders after placement. This role develops highly scalable services to process millions of requests per day and solves complex software engineering problems.

What you'll do

• Design & Develop software for our Amends Backend systems
• Design and implement pipelines to process real time delivery data against our Walmart Global Tech Guidelines
• Collaborate with cross team and cross functional stakeholders

Qualifications

• Over 10+ years of experience in designing and developing large-scale, distributed systems
• Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot
• Strong background in building scalable applications using Micro-services architecture
• Hands-on experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., Azure Cosmos, MySQL, Oracle, Cassandra, etc.)
• Expertise in internet-scale distributed technologies (e.g., ElasticSearch, Solr, MemCache, and similar tools)
• Experience working with distributed event streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis, etc.)

Minimum Qualifications

• Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
• Option 2: 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
