What you'll do

• Build solutions for our e-commerce platform including design, development, testing, and deployment
• Use the best tools for the job; create right-sized, tested, and reliable services to meet customer and coworker needs
• Work with marketing teams to ensure a high-quality, fast, and easy online shopping experience for customers
• Collaborate with data analytics teams to capture and leverage necessary information for business decisions
• Communicate with fulfillment and shipping services to power our warehouses
• Work with QA engineers to ensure quality E2E tests at each stage of CI/CD
• Build reporting services and self-service internal tools to expand SimpliSafe's capabilities

About You

• 8+ years of professional experience developing software and business solutions
• Provide examples of leading or developing full-stack solutions from concept to completion
• Mentor engineers, drive technical decision-making, and set standards that elevate team's engineering quality
• Expert experience with React and modern JavaScript frameworks (Remix, Next.js, React Router)
• Deep expertise in Node.js and TypeScript, with a strong track record of building and scaling production applications
• Experience with design systems, component libraries, and structuring a large-scale React application

• Experience designing and implementing backend services with REST and GraphQL APIs using frameworks like NestJS or Express.js
• Knowledge of SQL including experience with ORM (TypeORM, Prisma, or others), query optimization, and schema design
• Experienced cloud-native developer (AWS preferred), focused on creating scalable services using performant architecture patterns and tools including infrastructure as code technologies
• Experience leveraging AI tools and integrations to accelerate development workflows and automate business processes
• A collaborative team player with Agile experience and a commitment to continuous delivery of high-quality software
• Passion for building new things as well as integrating with existing data and third-party systems

Nice to have skills

• E-Commerce experience, Commercetools a plus
• Knowledge of containerization including Docker, Kubernetes, or ECS
• Experience with Contentful or other CMS including content modeling
• Experience with A/B testing platforms such as Contentful Personalization or Optimizely
• Familiarity with OpenTelemetry or APM tooling (Grafana, New Relic, Datadog) applied to Node.js server performance
