Staff Software Engineer

About the Role

We're seeking a talented engineer to design and build highly reliable, performant, and secure platform building blocks. You'll influence the platform team roadmap, own the evolution of multiple platform areas, and partner with engineering teams to provide cross-cutting solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design and build highly reliable, performant, and secure platform building blocks
• Influence the platform team roadmap and own the evolution of multiple platform areas
• Partner within and across engineering teams to provide cross-cutting solutions
• Consistently deliver deadline-sensitive work that is interdependent with other engineering teams
• Challenge the status quo and be responsible for the continuous improvement of the platform
• Regularly participate in peer code and engineering design reviews

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience designing, building, shipping, and maintaining products or platforms
• B.S./M.S. in Computer Science or an equivalent field
• Experience building and integrating with API-based platforms, including REST and other RPC-based systems
• Experience building and maintaining microservices in Python, Golang, Java, or C++
• Desire to work at a startup pace with a high degree of ownership
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex engineering concepts concisely and clearly to product and cross-functional stakeholders
• Strong motivation, gumption, and an appetite for continuous, incremental changes and completing challenging projects fast
• High level of curiosity about engineering outside of your immediate discipline and an incessant desire to learn
• Willingness to learn and an openness to giving and receiving feedback

Pay

For this position, we offer a base pay of $166,500 - $291,400, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation, and benefits. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location.
