About the role
The Staff Software Engineer will help lead technical direction across a major feature area or set of related systems at OneTrust. Staff Engineers determine their own approach on complex, often ambiguous assignments, and their technical judgment is trusted well beyond their immediate team.

- Technical Leadership & Architecture: Lead design and architecture for major features or components, ensuring alignment with the broader system architecture. Determine approach and methods independently on complex, ambiguous assignments without an established playbook.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner with other engineering teams, Product, and UX to shape solutions before implementation begins. Build working relationships and technical credibility beyond your immediate team.
- Quality & Standards: Establish and champion engineering best practices adopted by your team and beyond.
- Mentorship: Mentor Senior and mid-level engineers, helping them grow their technical judgment and scope of ownership.
Requirements
- Someone who determines methods and approach independently on new, complex assignments, and who is sought out by other engineers for technical guidance beyond your own team.

- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Demonstrated track record leading technical initiatives that span multiple engineers or systems.
- Deep expertise in frontend and/or backend technologies relevant to OneTrust's platform, including cloud architecture experience.
Skills
