Responsibilities

  • Architect and design solutions for large projects that cross multiple teams in FPI and partner teams in Ford Engineering.
  • Lead development of projects involving multiple senior and mid-level engineers.
  • Develop/Test/Deploy: Lead development of projects involving multiple senior and mid-level engineers.
  • Raise the engineering bar within the organization by proposing internal tooling, frameworks and processes to better improve efficiency and service quality.
  • Participate and/or lead incident, problem, change and service request-related activities, including root cause analysis (RCA).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's in computer science, computer engineering or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Experience with Kotlin/Springboot APIs and ETL processors.
  • Experience with React frontend.
  • Experience with PostgresDB & Redis.
  • Experience with GCP (CloudRun, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, BigTable).

Qualifications

  • English proficiency (written and verbal).
  • 7+ years of software engineering experience.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in back-end API development, with deep proficiency in modern languages such as Java or Kotlin.
  • 5+ years of experience designing, optimizing, and managing relational databases and complex SQL queries, specifically with PostgreSQL.
  • 5+ years of hands-on expertise with cloud-native infrastructure, specifically Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or comparable providers like AWS or Azure.

Skills

  • Experience with frontend development, particularly frameworks like React/Angular.
  • Highly effective in working with other technical experts, Product Managers, Dev Ops, Big Data, UI/UX Designers and business stakeholders.
  • Experience with RESTful interfaces and OAS standards.
  • Experience with Springboot services.
  • Experience with pub/sub architecture and in general other cloud capabilities.

Pay

This position is leadership level 6 and ranges from $132,800-$250,800. This position is leadership level 6 and ranges from $150,200-$283,500 (California residents).

Schedule

This position is hybrid. Candidates who are in commuting distance to a Ford hub location will be required to be onsite four or more days per week.
